Mark’s gospel was written mainly for the Romans around 60AD to teach people to get on and stay on the right track. He writes about Jesus as a man of action and the divine Son of God and clearly describes His person, work and teachings. As we walk with Christ, following His earthly ministry, we want to be taught by Him, get to know Him better and grow mature as His disciples.
The Life Of Jacob

Yet, when we look at the life of Jacob we could not think of a more unlikely character for God to choose and use to accomplish these purposes. The life of Jacob has much to teach us about the amazing grace of God in accomplishing his purposes of salvation and has many lessons for ourselves about the way God works in our lives to change and transform us into the people he wants us to be.

Written to a group of churches facing moderate persecution the letter of 1 Peter encourages them that while they are strangers in the world they are deeply loved by the God of Heaven. While this spells suffering now, it promises glory later.

Believing Is Seeing - John

Reading John you will discover that he is clear in his portrayal of Jesus being the Son Of God. Jesus is the focus of all John claims and his purpose is that you too may believe in him. ‘But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.’ John 20:31.

Jesus begins Acts by famously saying "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." This series reflects on how the book of Acts inspires us to mission.
Prayer - Confronting The Complacency

This is a short series looking at prayer as the church held a week of prayer. It seeks to look at what God tells about prayer in order for us to discover the amazing privilege and help it is. We hope that being reminded of the power of prayer, removing the barriers to effective prayer, being encouraged to work hard at it and persevere would inspire us to be less complacent and develop a passion for speaking with our God.
Waiting for the Return of Jesus - Thessalonians 1

Paul wrote to encourage the Christians in Thessalonica with the goal that they would continue to grow in godliness. The people had been exposed to errant teaching from those in opposition to the way of Jesus Christ and the grace of God. Paul understood that unless the church continued to mature in its faith, the danger would only increase over time.

Through the prophet Haggai, God called on the people to examine their priorities, to seek his forgiveness, to trust him and rebuild the temple. Returning To God - Malachi

Malachi is a book which holds many challenges for us today. The people of Judah are doubting God's promises to them. This has affected every aspect of their lives, including their worship of God. God, faithful in love for his people through the prophet Malachi, calls on them to turn back to him.
January - November 2012
This series began 2012 by introducing the church motto text 'He must become greater, I must become less." John 3:30. This was linked to a motto series on worship where we learn that Christ is the focus of all areas of our lives and true worship comes from having Christ at the centre of all we do.
October 2013 - July 2014
We are saved by faith alone. Jesus alone can purify us but in doing so it has an effect upon our entire nature, and produces in us fruits of righteousness to the praise and glory of God. This series examines what is meant by Holy Living and why we should desire to live like Jesus.
